At Cactus City, we don’t just operate on the internet. When it comes to events, our primary focus is no different to what we do everywhere else — championing female and minority talent.
Cactus City is quickly becoming synonymous with unique events that encapsulate our message, whilst celebrating women and gender minorities in music.
Cactus City UK Launch: The Charter of Good Practice
On our first birthday Cactus City UK were proud to launch our Charter of Good Practice to a packed out crowd at Ministry Members Club London. We had full roster of incredible artists including:
Our attendees were all given free drinks on arrival supplied by our sponsors at Proximo. We created our own cocktail menu using Kraken rum and 1800 tequila. The night ended on a high with everyone jumping on board and up to now making this journey with us.
Cactus City & Moving the Needle Present: Change The Record
A real celebration of women in music and our united organisational commitment to make real change. We were lucky enough to be sponsored by Shure, Double Dutch and Shake Baby Shake.
As we now know as standard, we were given a rousing speech by our founders Vanessa and Salli (Click to listen/ Download) and the stage was graced by artists:
ISSY DE ROSA
And DJ SIGGY SMALLS
I Am Arla & Cactus City: Story Slam
A very different event for us, but something that turned out to be a powerful place for women to be heard. We are thrilled to be partnered with I Am Arla, a sisterhood for survivors. Together we wanted women and gender minorities to feel safe to tell their stories through their art and we acheived just that.
The first of many for this exciting partnership.
